I thought I would compare the start pages of the leading popular internet browsers.
They all seem to have some common characteristics.
A search box
A text box that the user can use to do a search
Recently visited sites
Not only a list of recently visited sites, but sometimes thubmnails of the web pages.
Edge start page
This is by far the least conventional. It seems overwhelming and forces news content on the user.
Chrome start page
Definately the most popular of the 3. The design is clean and useful allowing you to get on with searching.
Firefox start page
Again, a slightly different design. No thumbnails/list of recently viewed sites. But access to settings etc at the bottom of the page.
